I couldn’t see
The poppy seeds
Strewn wildly
On the marble floor

Perhaps!
I couldn’t see
The sepia granules
Flowing in the veins
Of the old fig tree

Perhaps!
I couldn’t see
The grey wavelets
Turfing the pond
In my backyard

Or accidentally
The world changed”
As the winter came
